Auditions

We are so glad you are thinking of joining us this summer for Rogers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. Messiah Fine Arts is a ministry of Messiah Lutheran Church here in Yorba Linda. We do not require a participation fee to participate and are open to performers of all ages.

Auditions for the show are June 12 & 13 in the Joy Center on Messiah's Campus.

Take a moment and look at the cast breakdown and pick a role for which you would like to audition. Auditions begin at 7:00pm with all the roles listed above the dotted line on that page. Starting at 8:00pm we will begin auditioning the roles listed below the dotted line. As in the past, you are welcome to stay for all the auditions. Just note that if you are auditioning for a Von Trapp Child you will be finished around 8:00pm and if you are auditioning for Maria, you will not be heard until about 8:30pm. Once you have picked a role, please listen to the sound clip that includes the audition song with words first and then without words. The lyrics for each song have also been provided so that you can practice before your audition day. The Audition Packets are available below.

If you are new to performing and would like to just be in the show, come to the audition and we will learn Do-Re-Mi together. If you are interested in a lead or supporting role, please prepare the song(s) provided. You may also be asked to read some dialogue and dance a little.

The cast list will be posted/emailed by Friday afternoon and our first rehearsal will be that Saturday, June 16 at 9:00am. At this first rehearsal we will discuss some important production information so please put it on your calendar now.
