Spiritual Gifts Assessment

What is a spiritual gift? It is an endowment by the Holy Spirit given to each believer in Christ.

Does everyone have a spiritual gift? Every believer has spiritual gifts. As gifts are used and developed, weaker gifts can be strengthened and new gifts discovered.

Is any gift more desirable than another? All gifts are equally valuable. It is important that we respect each other's gifts, not holding our gifts in higher reverence to others and also understanding that not everyone sees things the way you do. For example, someone with the gift of FAITH, may find it difficult to understand why people doubt God.

How do I know what my spiritual gifts are? There are several assessment tools available. Messiah has chosen to use the Evangelical Lutheran Church's Spiritual Gifts Assessment.  ELCA Spiritual Gifts Assessment 

This is your personal assessment. You alone receive the outcome. Your answers will not be shared with anyone. If you would like to discuss your gifts with a Messiah Connector or Pastor, we would be more than happy to have a conversation with you. Your gifts are complimentary to your personality style and your passions. They are one piece to the puzzle that is you. Bringing all these pieces together and knowing where God wants you is not always clear. Through prayer, and an open heart, your path will shine.

Please take a moment to soak in the words from 1 Corinthians 12 regarding the gifts of the spirit and the unity of the body.

Remember, there are no right or wrong gifts, no right or wrong styles and no right or wrong passions, they are just different.
