The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles,
some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,
to equip the saints for the work of ministry,
for building up the body of Christ . . .
Ephesians 4:11-12

As an equipping church, we are all considered “ministers” of Christ, gifted and called to serve and love others. With the unique blend of skills, interests, passions, personalities and experiences each partner brings, it’s no wonder that Messiah is an amazing community of believers. It is through each and every person that God’s work is done. The people are the church and the church is on the move, serving in the community and reaching out to the world.  

With so much ministry happening all around us, there is a place and a need for every person, but we’re careful not to just fill slots. Serving is a personal and spiritual offering to the Lord. By using your unique gifts, you’re saying “here I am Lord, doing what you created me to do.” You’re honoring God, just by being YOU.

Have you discovered your gifts yet? Sometimes, as we grow in faith and knowledge our gifts can even change. It’s important to know who you are and how God created you. At Messiah, it’s our goal to help you through the discovery process and better equip you for a life of Christ honoring service.

We invite you to an informal conversation with a member of the “Connections Team” to get to know you and explore how your skills, knowledge and life experiences can help build God’s kingdom here at Messiah, in your workplace, and even the world!

Equipping Workshops                                                                                                                            Messiah’s Equipping Workshops are designed to bring the leaders of Messiah together in fellowship and learning. Three workshops are held annually. Past topics have included keys to leadership, becoming an equipping church, effective communication and team building. Though most workshops are targeted for leaders, all are welcome and encouraged to attend.

S.H.A.P.E. Spiritual Gifts Discovery                                                                                                          This isn't the same old "spiritual gifts class" you may have taken long ago. No, this is a fresh look at your individual SHAPE, helping you discern and understand your unique purpose for life.  SHAPE will meet in small group settings through out the year.  Stay tuned for more information.

New Partner in Ministry Orientation

This is our new “member” class packaged in a fun yet informative moving tour across campus. Meet our pastor’s, church staff, and ministry leaders. New Partner in Ministry Orientation is primarily intended for individuals who are considering joining our church family. However, you may attend simply to acquaint yourself with Messiah and its ministry. At the end of the class, you will have an opportunity to identify your next steps at Messiah, and decide whether or not to become a partner in ministry. The orientation is held three times annually.

Messiah Lutheran Church is truly a family rich in relationship. If you have been thinking, praying, or searching for a place to belong…. welcome! Now, let’s get acquainted.
