The staff of Messiah Lutheran Preschool welcomes you and your family. We feel that each family is an important part of our program and we hope that your family will have that feeling from the beginning.

General Information
Messiah Lutheran Preschool is a non-profit, inter-racial organization, governed by an Advisory Committee responsible to the Pastor of Spiritual Growth and to the Church Council of Messiah Lutheran Church. We welcome all children regardless of nationality, race, or religion. At Messiah, children are to be accepted, respected, encouraged and loved. The Preschool is licensed by the State of California.

Purpose
The purpose of the Preschool is to provide a learning environment for the preschool child that is conducive to Christian growth and development in all areas-physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual.

Goals
Our goals at the Preschool are:

• To help each child grow in self-understanding.
• To help each child build satisfying relationships with other people.
• To help each child learn about the physical world through his/her five senses.
• To encourage an awareness of God’s love for all people.
• To help each child experience the love, support and acceptance of Christian Fellowship.

Program
The program is planned to balance quiet, indoor play with vigorous outdoor activity. Opportunities will be presented for children to experiment with music, art and science. Interest centers are utilized inside and outside. A free-flow format is used for a portion of the program offering free choices. Throughout the year we offer special events such as Jesus’ Birthday Parties, Dad N’Me Day, Grandpal’s Day and Mom’s Special Day.

Staff
Our staff is qualified through education and experience to guide children with love, patience and understanding. They are members of the Orange County Association for the Education of Young Children and attend in-service workshops. Everyone on staff is first aid and CPR certified.

Enrollment
A child must be 3 years old by December 2 in order to participate in our Tuesday/Thursday program. To attend Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, a child must be 4 years old by December 2. Our Pre-K program is provided for our bonus year children and older 4 year olds. All children must be potty-trained.
