Easter Project Supporting Blue Skies
Each year, Messiah chooses to raise money to make a difference in the lives of others leading up to Easter Sunday. You are invited to make a dedication in our Easter bulletin (must be received by Monday, March 25 to be listed in the bulletin.)
We are supporting Blue Skies Ministries. More than 17,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year. Blue Skies wants to share the hope of Jesus with as many of these families as possible by offering camp getaways to lift families above the dark and stormy clouds of childhood cancer. Their mission is to bring the hope of Christ to families living through the challenges of pediatric cancer so children who are sick will laugh and play and feel “normal” again. Messiah is supporting Blue Skies Ministries' upcoming camp for families with a child who has cancer. The camp is Sept. 2-5, 2024 at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. The camp experience includes lodging, meals, t-shirt, activities, Bible study, volunteer team, and more. We want to help by offsetting the cost. Ways we can help:
- Camp T-Shirts: $25/each or $2,500/everyone
- Activities including Surf Lessons, Silent Disco and more: $175/each for camp
- Meals: $200/family dinner or $2,000/one meal for everyone
- Camp Cost per Child: $500/per day or $1,500/camp
- Camp Cost for a family of five: $7,500
