Recurring Gifts

08.06.21

Giving a first-portion tithe (1-10%+) of your earnings is a faith-building act of worship...and scheduled giving through your bank or credit card is a masterful way to develop the habit of trusting God consistently.

    THROUGH PUSHPAY

Messiah can support you via PushPay for credit card recurring gifts. You will receive a tax deduction for the full value of your donation and possibly reward points from your credit card (if applicable for your bank's credit card account); however, a small merchant fee of 3% plus 25 cents is deducted by PushPay before the money transfers to Messiah. You will need (one time) to create a PushPay account and establish a safe and secure access to your credit card. This will involve signup and verification by email or text and usually takes only a few minutes. You can always manage your recurring gift on the PushPay website at any time—adjusting the timing, pace, amount, and period of giving.

THROUGH YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION (BANK, CREDIT UNION, ONLINE SERVICE)

Using your bank to setup a regular rhythm of transfers yields Messiah the full value of your donation (no loss of merchant charges or overhead fee). To accomplish this you would work through your bank or your bank's online payment services to schedule a recurring payment/transfer to Messiah. You won't need any special account numbers or wire transfer codes from Messiah. Banks use the ACH (Automated Clearing House) method for most outbound transfers. Just set your payee as Messiah Lutheran Church with the address of 4861 Liverpool St, Yorba Linda, CA 92886—a method similar to what you would use for any other online transaction. You should be able connect to any checking or savings account that has electronic transfer features included. This is typically free, but verify the terms and limits of your account to be sure.

Your faith in God, and your giving to Messiah, move the Gospel forward in our community and world. Like God’s love, generosity grows and thrives on abundance. Everything we have is a heavenly provision. How we treat it is a reflection of our gratitude—for God’s grace, mercy, and bounty.

Psalm 24:1—The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.

Thank you for your generosity! If you have any questions or need assistance with setting up a recurring gift, contact the church's finance administrator.
