Camino de Santiago Information Meetings

Tuesday, October 29, 2024, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
All are invited to join Pastor Bob and Jeannie on the Camino de Santiago next summer. After they experienced the Portuguese route of the Camino in 2022, they wanted to offer others the opportunity to experience the joy and the challenge of this extraordinary adventure! The Camino is far more than just a trip. This legendary pilgrimage, rich in medieval allure, attracts people from diverse backgrounds to the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in the beautiful Galicia region in northwest Spain.
This journey is not just a hike or a walk – it’s is a profoundly personal journey and pilgrimage, a chance to leave behind that which encumbers you to hear the heartbeat of God in nature, in others, and in the silence that can fill the rhythm of each day’s walk.
“We set out for a walk in Spain and ended up meeting the world” This is a great description of the Camino experience. We begin our Camino in the Galician town of Sarria and walk the last 100km of the Camino Frances route to Santiago over eight days. This is the most traveled Camino route, so we are sure to meet fellow pilgrims from all over the world as we experience the authentic local culture and food along the way.
Averaging approximately 10 miles of walking a day through countrysides, vineyards, small villages and towns, you will only have to carry what you need for the day. Our luggage will be portered from our previous night’s lodging to the next place we will stay.
On the Camino, we are one family of pilgrims sharing the same sunsets and rain showers, the valleys and hills, the surprises of new friendships and the generosity of people we have never met but who are on the journey with us and our now family. It is the lesson of “Ultreia,” of going beyond and living our fullest life possible.
The cost of the trip is approximately $2650 + Airfare. This includes lodging, breakfasts, ground transportation in Spain, luggage transfers, and travel insurance, and assistance services. The first eight people to sign up are guaranteed a spot!
Come to one of two Information Meetings to learn more! Sunday, October 13 at 11:30am or Tuesday, October 29 at 7pm in Pastor Bob's Office.
