In the lower story, buried in two hundred years of evil kings, Israel’s prophet, Elijah is raised up by God as spokesman. Elijah leads a revival of Israel through a supernatural challenge over the people’s idol, Baal. Proof that God pursues us and uses whatever it takes us to bring us back into a relationship. Similarly, Hosea’s love and forgiveness is too hard to believe…doesn’t make sense. God is up to an upper story demonstration of his love for every person. This Bible records these stories to show how far God is willing to go to reclaim his people, including you and me. He calls, “Come home! Oh, Sinner. Come home!”
