Dear Messiah friends and family,
One of the things I love most about this community is that belonging always comes first. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to know all the words or feel a certain way. You’re welcome because you’re you.
As we begin Lent, we enter a season that invites a gentle turning of the heart. Not a dramatic overhaul. Not a guilt-driven reset. Just a simple, honest turning toward God—with intention, humility, and attention.
This season, we’re inviting one another to practice paying attention:
to God,
to one another,
and to how we live and give our lives away in meaningful ways.
On Commitment Sunday, March 1, we’ll offer a chance to respond to the love and belonging that already hold us. For some, making a commitment to a church or community may feel familiar. For others, it may feel new—or even a little uncomfortable. That’s okay. This isn’t about pressure or perfection. It’s about practice.
We’ll invite commitments as a spiritual practice—an intentional way of saying, “This community matters to me, and I want to be part of what’s unfolding here.” You’ll be able to bring a commitment card with you or submit one online—whatever feels most natural.
There is no comparison, no expectation, no single “right” way to respond. Just space to notice what’s stirring in your heart and to respond honestly.
Faith commitment cards were distributed during worship services this month. Please bring the card to church on March 1st as they will be received as part of our offering that day. You may also complete it online by clicking here.
You already belong. This is simply an invitation to let your heart turn toward what matters most.
Hope to see you on Sunday,
Pastor Bob
