Alzheimer's Worship and Luncheon

02.21.17 | Events | by Shannon Cronin

On Tuesday, February 21, about 50 people came to Messiah from various memory care facilities, as far away as Mission Viejo. It was a lovely day with a worship service led by Pastor Angela. The guests always enjoy singing, "Jesus Loves Me," said Norma Wilker, long-time Messiah member who helps lead the Alzheimer's event each year. Following worship, guests moved from the church into the Joy Center, and enjoyed lunch of croissant sandwiches and chips. They loved the root beer floats! Thanks to nearly 15 Messiah volunteers, the event was a success. Each guest was given a mug as a parting gift. This annual event has been going on for over 15 years at Messiah.
