Dear Messiah Friends and Family,
When Jesus says, “Come and see,” it is never a demand.
It is never pressure.
And it is never arm-twisting.
It is an invitation.
Again and again in the Gospels, Jesus simply shows up—fully present, deeply loving—and allows grace to do what grace always does: invite a response. He meets people where they are. He listens. He heals. He shares meals. He restores dignity. And only then—sometimes quietly, sometimes not at all—people choose how they will respond.
Not out of fear.
Not out of guilt.
But out of gratitude.
Because grace always comes first.
Jesus forms a community shaped by love, healing, and shared life—a community where people are named beloved before they are asked to do anything at all. Belonging is not the reward; it is the starting point.
That’s why, in the life of faith, we don’t give in order to belong.
We give because we already belong.
Over these weeks, we are inviting one another to come and see—to notice what God is already doing among us, and to listen for how grace may be stirring a response in our own lives. For some, that response may take the shape of time or service. For others, it may look like sharing gifts or resources. For many, it may begin simply with staying curious and present.
All of it matters.
All of it counts.
And all of it flows from grace.
Come and see how love takes shape when it’s shared.
And trust this: you already belong.
Hope to see you on Sunday,
Pastor Bob
